Be a Docent at the Burnham Pavilions

We're looking for lunchtime and early evening "ASK ME" volunteers for the Burnham Centennial Exhibit in Millennium Park, June 19- October 31, 2009

The Job: You will be an "ASK ME" person, able to explain to exhibit visitors about Daniel Burnham, the 1909 Plan of Chicago, the Burnham Plan Centennial, the Burnham Pavilions and the architects who designed the pavilions, Zaha Hadid and UNStudio/ Ben vanBerkel.

Your Skills: The ability to stand or be on your feet and walk around outdoors for two hours at a time. Comfortable speaking to strangers. An articulate, pleasant, polite and energetic manner with people. Able to think on your feet and quickly react to a variety of questions from a variety of people.

Interests In: Millennium Park, Chicago, Chicago history, architecture and design, Daniel Burnham, planning

Requirements: Interview with volunteer coordinator, attend a volunteer training session, read training materials, complete a practice session on site.
